What languages does the staff speak?

Our international team speaks French, English, German, Russian and Spanish.

Is La Boule d’Or wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Bedroom 1 has been designed specifically for wheelchair accessibility.

Do you do long-term stays?

We do! Get in touch if you’d like to know more about our long-term stays here at La Boule d’Or.

How do I Cancel or Modify my booking?

Please refer to your specific booking for the terms and conditions of your cancelation and modification options.

Is breakfast included? If yes, what’s in the breakfast?

It is indeed. You’ll find local fresh croissants, organic bread from the best baker in town, and eggs from the local market. Local honey from the cutest couple, and other local surprises. All delivered to your shared kitchen for you from 8am. This is your fully stocked kitchen, we get your goods, for you to have your perfect breakfast.

Why don’t you have TVs in the rooms?

There’s many opportunities for ‘screen time’, and for your sense of peace, and the others around you, we’ve found it’s beneficial to have your space free of TVs. We hope you agree.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 3pm - 6pm. After 6pm you’ll be able to online check-in and have information sent about your key.

Check-out is at 11am.

Are children allowed? Or pets? Or pets referred to as children?

Children are very welcome at La Boule d’Or. Pets unfortunately are not at this time (with the exception of assistance animals).

When is my room cleaned?

Prior to your arrival, we will prepare and tidy your room, ensuring that everything is in impeccable condition. Throughout your stay, we deeply respect your need for privacy and tranquility, refraining from any disturbances unless explicitly requested. Our aim is for you to feel entirely at home, with the freedom to personalize the space according to your preferences. Kindly note that daily room cleaning is not included; however, if you require a swift revitalization, kindly inform us between 9 am and 4 pm. Our dedicated team is always available to provide any assistance you may require.


Where can I eat?

While we do have a small fare at the bar, and also your own Kitchen in the hostel to prepare meals for yourself. Here’s what Clamecy has to offer…

1. Gondola Pizzeria: A delightful pizzeria offering a wide selection of delicious pizzas, made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection.


2. La Table de la Tour: Refined dining experience focusing on seasonal and regional ingredients.


3. Auberge de l'Atre: Countryside inn with classic French dishes using fresh local produce.


4. Le Bistro du Port: Waterfront restaurant serving French and international dishes, specializing in seafood.


5. La Maison de Mimi Pinson: Welcoming bistro with creative twists on authentic French cuisine.



What's there to drink? 

Our summer garden bar is open from June to September, those lovely summer months. Nicolas and Madeleine have painstakingly tasted over 300+ wines on a grand tour of the best Bio-Dynamic, organic, and orange wines in the region, so when you’re here, at our garden wine bar, you have a choice of the best of the best. Where can I park?

If you have a lot of bags and need to drop them of, drive on in to our courtyard where we have a loading area. Off -street parking is available just outside our driveway; to the left, next to the Church of Bethleem, or to the right on the opposite side of the road.

Can I book the entire 11 room hostel for a retreat?

Yes. You can book the 11 room hostel, with or without the Chapel, Professional Kitchen, Garden Bar. Block outs are available. Lets chat. email us bookings@labouledor.info


Can I use the artist spaces?

Of course! The Barn Studios are open to use between the hours of 10am - 9pm. If you need to use any machinery or power tools, you’ll need to book that time in with Adrien on-site.
